Dayne B. Lehman, 83, of Newcomerstown, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Friday, Jan. 28, 1927, in Newcomerstown, to the late Carl Lehman and Leanice (Strode) Lehman.

He was a World War II US Navy veteran serving from Jan. 27, 1946, until July 16, 1946.

He retired from Simonds Industries, Newcomerstown, after 44 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newcomerstown, American Legion-Thomas C. Montgomery Post 431, Loyal Order of the Moose 1337, Newcomerstown Saddle Club, all of Newcomerstown; former volunteer fireman; former employee of Byrd Ambulance; and former auxiliary policeman for the Newcomerstown Police Department.

He married Edna Joanne (Couts) Lehman on Friday, Oct. 20, 1950, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sharin (Charlie) Wilcox of Georgia and Janet (Steven) Bush of Newcomerstown; one son, Daniel Lehman of Columbus; two grandchildren, Jason Bush and Kelsey Bush; three brothers, William (Helen) Lehman, James (Carolyn) Lehman and Fred (Linda) Lehman, all of Newcomerstown.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Joseph Lehman.

Services were Aug. 7 at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Donald Silverthorne officiating.

Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Veteran services were conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
