Mabel F. Casteel, 90, of Newcomerstown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center West Lafayette.

She was born Saturday, Sept. 11, 1920, in Guernsey County to the late Frank and Bessie (Deichler) Early.

She was a 1938 graduate of Newcomerstown High School, retired from Heller Tool Company in Newcomerstown after 43 years and a member of the Church of Christ of Newcomerstown.

She married Wallace E. "Hop" Casteel on Nov. 16, 1946; he passed away Nov. 26, 1995.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Bryan Castell; one grandson, Jordan Castell; four brothers, Harold Early, Leslie Early, Raymond Early and an infant brother; four sisters, Mildred Nay, F. Ruth McCoy, Edna Britt and Mary Beasley; and one sister-law, Ruth Barber.

Survivors include seven nieces, Pat Waggoner of Newcomerstown, Donna Lafollette of Newcomerstown, Pam Bartlett of Louisville, Denise Quicksall of New Philadelphia, Nanette Edwards of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Melinda Early of New Orleans, La., and Nikki Wallick of New Philadelphia; seven nephews, Greg Early of Canton, Michael Donato of Uhrichsville, Robert Nay of Medina, Barry Nay of Pheonix, Ariz., Dick Early of Avon Lake, Ronnie Early of Washington D.C., and John McCoy of Charleston, W.Va.; and one sister-in-law, Pauline Walkup of Newcomerstown.

Funeral services were Oct. 19 at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Greg Circle officiating.
