PORT WASHINGTON -- Vonda Lee Campbell, 88, Port Washington, formerly of Florida, passed away early Monday afternoon, April 25, 2011, in Union Hospital, Dover.

Vonda was born in Zanesville on Sept. 15, 1922, a daughter of the late Roy Edward and Zora Belva Allison Shuck. She was a graduate of Coshocton High School, class of 1940. Vonda also attended restaurant and hostess training school in Ft. Lauderdale. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Port Washington. Vonda assisted her family with the ownership and operation of the Parkway Drive-In and Motel, Coshocton, for over 15 years. While in Florida, she was employed as a hostess for the Pier 66 Restaurant, Ft. Lauderdale, for several years. She also worked at the former Creighton's Restaurant, Ft. Lauderdale, and assisted her husband with the ownership and operation of the Polka Dot Restaurant, Pompano, for a few years. Vonda enjoyed cooking, working with crafts, doing jig saw puzzles, and reading.

In addition to her parents, Vonda was preceded in death by husband, James "Scott" Campbell, Port Washington, who died March 24, 2008. Vonda and James were married on July 11, 1972. Also deceased are a son-in-law, Orvil L. Azbell, Coshocton; and her two sisters and their husbands, Glenda D. and Walter Thompson, Newcomerstown, and Lola Virginia and Ralph Ringwalt, Ft. Lauderdale.

Vonda is survived by three daughters, Vicki L. Azbell, Coshocton, Cheryl D. Prichard, Norcross, Ga., and Renee (James W.) Bates, Cambridge; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Vonda was also looking forward to her first and second great-great-grandchildren who are due this August. The family would also like to recognize several special care givers who assisted Vonda the past several years, Carole Hunt, Patti Tilman, Chris Daugherty, and Penny Lewis.

To honor Vonda's requests, no public visiting hours will be observed. Public graveside services and burial took place April 29, 2011, in the Salem-Union Cemetery, Port Washington. Mr. Tom Gardner conducted the services.

The family is requesting that memorials be made in Vonda's name to the Community Hospice of Tuscarawas, Carroll, and Stark counties, 201 W. Third St., Dover, OH 44622 .
