Gretchen Gean Marlatt, 91, Newcomerstown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newcomerstown.
She was born Friday, Dec. 19, 1919, in Tuscarawas County, to the late Harley and Mabel (Fenton) Gross.
She was a housewife and a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown,
She enjoyed flowers and gardening, fishing, bird watching and quilting.
On Nov. 17 1939, she married Harold L. Marlatt, who died Oct. 21, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Earl Gross.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy G. Fisher of Newcomerstown; four sons, Loverne (Joyce) Marlatt, Garry (Sue) Marlatt, Larry (Wilma) Marlatt, all of Newcomerstown, and James (Linda) Marlatt of Dover; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Gross of Dover; one sister, Thelma Long of Gnadenhutten.
Visitation will be Monday, June 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, where services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Garry Marlatt officiating.
Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
