Daniel J. Tice Sr., 75, of Newcomerstown, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Saturday, July 4, 1936, in Angel Valley, to the late Clarence H. and Annie (Smart) Tice.
He was employed for 49 years at the Fairfield, Strasburg and Belden Brick Yard Companies.
He was a member of Wolf Salem United Methodist Church since 1978.
He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
On Friday, Oct. 14, 1977, he married Linda (Saylor) Rippel Tice, who survives.
He is also survived by one son, Eric J. Tice; one daughter, Rae Lynn Rippel both of Newcomerstown; also from a previous marriage, one daughter, Dianne M. (John) Liagris of Dennison, and three sons, Daniel J. (Cindy) Tice Jr. of Baltic, Douglass A. Tice and companion Dee of Huntsville, Ala., and Derrick H. Tice of Ohio; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph C. (Janet) Tice of Barnhill and Earl R. Tice of Columbia; and two sisters, Ethel (James) Gatten of Uhrichsville and Grace (Robert) Porter of New Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tina Marie Tice; one sister, Melvie Tice Powell; and a niece, Madeline.
Services were Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Pastor Kenny Porcher officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery (Salem Township).
