She was born in Fresno on Sept. 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Benjamin Henderson and Mabel "Burrier" Henderson Geese.
Oleen was a 1938 graduate of Fresno High School.
On March 23, 1940, she married G. Harold Peoples, who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1988. Harold and Oleen were married for 47 years prior to his passing, and loved spending time with their family as well as traveling to different countries including Africa, Spain, and Portugal.
Oleen was a loving stay-at-home wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. For a few years during World War II, she worked for the former Heller Brothers Tool Co. at Newcomerstown. Oleen was active in church organizations and activities as a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She also served as a Red Cross volunteer.
As a devoted and doting grandmother, she babysat for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cherished hosting family holidays and get-togethers as well as baking Santa Claus Christmas cookies for her granddaughters and their classmates during their school years. Oleen enjoyed sewing, and was proud to have the pleasure of creating many Barbie Doll clothes, prom dresses, and even wedding dresses over the years for her daughter and granddaughters.
Oleen especially treasured the time spent visiting with her family including a total of five generations for most of her life, all living close to her in the Newcomerstown area. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo with residents and friends at Riverside Apartments.
Survivors include her granddaughters, Kristie (King) Wilkin and Kelly (King) Jeff Eggleston and husband Jeff Eggleston; great-grandchildren, Lindsey (Dave) Wilkin Bryan, Joe (Amy) Eggleston, and Eric Baker; great-great grandchildren include Chase, Keegan and Zoey Eggleston, Tayte Bryan, and twins, Trace and Tristen Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.

To the best mom and grandma in the whole world, "You will be forever missed in the hearts of your entire family. We thank you for the gift of being such a vital part of our lives. We will cling to our fond memories of every moment spent with you until we meet again. Love - your family."
