ZANESVILLE -- Rachel Lynn Riggle, a former member of Elements indoor drum line and supporter of the Ridgewood Marching Generals, passed away in Cleveland at the age of 22.
She reportedly passed away July 28, 2012, at her apartment in Cleveland of unknown causes. However, no foul play was indicated.
According to reports, Riggle suffered from chronic back pain after a back injury while playing basketball in high school. For four years, she lost use of her right arm and walked with a limp. With physical therapy, she was back to using her arm and walking without a limp.
Even though she was a graduate of West Muskingum High School, she fell in love with Ridgewood after attending a high school football game in West Lafayette.
Rachel's dad, Jeff, even drove the percussion trailer for the Marching Generals.
Funeral services for Miss Riggle were Aug. 4, 2012, at The Snouffer Funeral Home, Zanesville. Burial was in the Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to the Ridgewood Music Boosters, 602 Johnson St., West Lafayette, Ohio 43845.
