Estella M. George, 101, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, surrounded by her family at her daughter's residence in Gnadenhutten.
She was born Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1910, in Monroe Township, to the late Wilbur and Mary (Neal) Beal.
On Aug. 7, 1929, she was married to Arthur C. George, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1996.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Lucille Tobin of Gnadenhutten, Harold J. (Doris) George of Port Washington, Shirley (Jim) Emler of Gnadenhutten, Carol (David) Beal of Cambridge, Linda (Don) Adkins of Port Washington; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren with her seventh expected this November; and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Beal; her sister, Alma Boniphant; and her son-in-law, Floyd Tobin.
Estella was a lifelong quilter and enjoyed doing needlework. Many of her family and friends can take comfort on a cold winters night while wrapped up in the cuddle blankets that she made for them. She had the gift to play the piano, something that she still did until very recently. She would also recite the 91st Psalm on a daily basis. She made the most of her time here on Earth and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She lived a simple life, with simple faith, doing kind deeds with kind words. She was a faithful member of Birmingham United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Women's Group.
A funeral honoring the life of Estella was Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Pastor
Beth Mansperger officiating. Burial was in the Peoli Cemetery.
