CAMBRIDGE -- V. Lucille (Scott) Folkert, 89, of Cambridge, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Meridian of Cambridge.

She was born on May 22, 1924, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late William T. Scott and L. Pearle (Gibson) Scott.

Mrs. Folkert was a life member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, a choir member and a Deacon. Lucille retired from teaching in the Guernsey County School System in 1988 after 44 years of service. She was a member of the Ohio Eastern Star 211 for over 50 years, the AARP, Senior Citizens and the Guernsey County Retired Teachers Association. She was a 1942 graduate of Brown High School and a volunteer at Cambridge Health Care Center.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Richard E. "Dick" Folkert, on July 20, 2001.

She is survived by a daughter, Cathy (Thomas) Stevens of Cambridge; a son, Rick (Brenda) Folkert of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Ashley (Jay) Folkert Wentz, Nick Folkert and Kelsey Folkert; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Wentz.

Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at the Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, with the Rev. Keith Leach and the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating.

Burial followed in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.

Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church, Hospice of Guernsey, Eastern Star 211 or the Guernsey County Retired Teachers Association.
