Eugene C. Zinkon, 78, of Coshocton, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 24, 2013) at his residence.

He was born Friday, March 22, 1935, in Bakersville, to the late Lester and Mary (Miller) Zinkon.

He was an Army veteran serving from 1957 until 1959 in Germany with the 3rd Division. He was previously employed at Wentz Concrete for 34 years, and worked at Stocker Concrete from 1989 to 2000. He was a 1953 graduate of West Lafayette High school. He was a life member and past President of the Newcomerstown Trap Club, member of the former VFW 1330 of Coshocton. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, NASCAR and was an avid fan of all the Ohio Sport teams.

On Saturday, Aug. 10, 1957, he married Betty M. (Snyder) Zinkon, who survives.

He is also survived by two sisters, Virginia L. (James) Guthrie and Cindy (Harold) Spang, all of

Coshocton; one brother, Paul (Linda) Zinkon of Bakersville; special niece and nephew, Jackie (Larry) Domer and Jamie (Becky) Wilden; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Day and Janice Wilden.

Services were Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Pastor C. E. "Sonny" Easterday officiating.

Burial was in Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens.

Military graveside services were conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
