Russell Wayne Hart, 86, of Newcomerstown, formerly of Dennison, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Coshocton County, to the late Russell Dewey and Emma (Zimmerman) Hart.

He was a Newcomersown High School graduate.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy Seaman First Class from Oct. 26, 1945, to Aug. 31, 1946.

He retired from Ohio Power in 1988. He was a life member of American Legion Thomas C. Montgomery Post 431 of Newcomerstown.

He was also a member of Mistic Tie Lodge 0194 of Dennison, Dennison Eagles and Scottish Rite Valley of Canton.

On June 26, 1948, he married Lorena June (Angle) Hart, who died Aug. 11, 1997.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda (William) Peter and Brenda Pollock (Mike Cummings), all of Dennison; one son, Wayne Buster (Joyce) Hart of

Uhrichsville; 10 grandchildren, LeeAnna (Jason) Warren, Michelle (Trent) Yoder, Jim (Peggy) Hitchcock, Sean (Kandy) Thomas, Christopher (Tabitha)

Thomas, Lisa (Scott) Barrett, Elizabeth Hart, David Hart, Amy (Dale) Smith, and Wade Smith; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Velma Hoffman of Coshocton.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus Hart; and son-in-law, Terry Pollock.

Services were Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Larry Hukill officiating.

Burial was in the Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette.

Military services were conducted by Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
