Mary Jane Hursey, 85, of Newcomerstown, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 18, 1928, at Indian Camp in Guernsey County, to the late Ross and Hope (Geese) Wynn.
Mary Jane retired from Kurz Kasch in Newcomerstown.
On Nov. 22, 1945, she married Raymond "Dane" Hursey, who passed away Dec. 15, 2010.
The joy of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janet Chaney and her husband Gary, Ellen Couts and her companion Orlan Harding and her son, Art Hursey and his wife Debbie; her grandchildren, Mark Chaney and his wife Shawnta, Vickie Neighbor and her husband Chad, Shannon Gribble and her husband Bud, Tom Couts and his wife Lori, Andy Hursey, and Eric Hursey and his wife Amanda; her great-grandchildren, Hannah Moore and her husband Mike, Amber Gibson, Scott Neighbor, Hayley Chaney, Austin "Boss" Gibson and his fiance Kelsey McCune, Abbey Neighbor, Lane Gribble, Danny, Aydan, Olivia, Adyson and Elana Hursey; and step-great-grandchildren, Ali Cercone, Ashley Crosby and Nathan Adamik; a brother-in-law, Lester "Bud" Hursey and his wife Bev; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Couts; her sister; and four brothers.
Services were Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Pastor Wayne Baker and Dr. Mark Lail officiating.
Burial followed in St. Jacob's Cemetery.
