WARREN -- Dr. Waldemar Richard Agricola, 101, passed away 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 ,at Lake Vista in Cortland, Ohio.

He was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Waverly, the son of the late Rev. Ewald Otto Agricola and the late Emma Langendoerfer.

He married Virginia Yvonne Berry Agricola on July 23, 1941.

Dr. Agricola was a graduate of Baltic High School, the College of Wooster in 1933 and Western Reserve School of Medicine in 1938. He was a self-employed physician in General Practice for 58 years.

One of his greatest joys was bringing 2,711 babies into this world including many second and third generation children.

Waldemar was a lifetime member of the American Medical Association, Elks Club, Free and Accepted Masons and Newcomerstown Business and Professional Mens Organization. He was on the Board of Directors of Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Friends of the Library. He enjoyed landscaping and collecting Native American artifacts. He also enjoyed drawing and woodcarving.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Richard Agricola of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Ann (Charles) Fetrow of Champion; grandchildren, Dr. Christian (Josephine) Agricola, Heather, Rebecca and Kathryn Fetrow; great-grandchild, Julian David Agricola; sister, Helen Wright of Coshocton; and his deceased son, Dr. David Vernon Agricola's wife Suzanne Skaryd Agricola of Lakewood.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ewald Agricola; mother, Emma Langendoerfer; spouse, Virginia Yvonne Agricola; his son, Dr. David Vernon Agricola; and three sisters, Irene Arndt, Elinor and Grace Agricola.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family requests that material contributions be made to the Case Western Reserve Medical School, Sierra Club or the Arbor Day Foundation in his memory.
