Ann Marie (Strenko) Sarchet, 78, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, in the presence of several family members.
Ann Marie was born in 1936 to Henry and Margaret (Raymond) Strenko in Ebensburg, Pa.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and gardener who was always anxious to please.
Ann Marie was employed at the CIA, Goodyear Aircraft, US Plywood and others during her working career.
Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Ray Sr.; and four children, Sherry Sasso of Atlanta, Ga., Ray Jr. of Moore, Okla., Denise Trafelet of Traverse City, Mich., and Byron Sarchet of Levenworth, Kan. She also had 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She has a surviving sister, Janet (Strenko) Coleman of State College, Pa.
She and Ray had another son, Douglas, who passed away at age 10 of leukemia.
Ann Marie and Ray traveled to Europe, the British Isles, the Caribbean and many states including Hawaii and Alaska.
She will be greatly missed by her immediate and extended family. May God bless and comfort them all.
A gathering of family and friends took place Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, in the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, Springfield, Ohio.
Graveside services were held in the Kimbolton Cemetery, Kimbolton, Guernsey County, on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014.
