Dorothy A. Davis, 81, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014.

She was born on March 23, 1933, in Dover, to the late Dr. Howard H. and S. Hazeltine (Russell) Schwindt.

She graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1951. She attended Ohio University in Athens, and graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Cleveland.

She married her husband, George R. Davis in 1956, who passed away in 2010. Dorothy worked as registered surgical nurse at Coshocton Memorial Hospital and later joined her husband in operating River Greens Golf Course. She managed the snack bar and banquet facilities until she retired in 1993. She was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church and a past member of the Eastern Stars.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lynn A. (Lee) Russell of Newcomerstown; her son, Doug A. (Jamie) Davis of West Lafayette; brother, Charles Schwindt of Marquette, Mich.; five grandchildren, Daniel Russell of Newcomerstown, Ali, Lexi, Tyler and Tanner Davis, all of West Lafayette.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was precede in death by her sister, Jane Craigo; and brother, Max Schwindt.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, 120 W. Union Ave., West Lafayette, with the Rev. William Buckeye officiating.

Burial followed in the Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Lafayette United Methodist Church.
