Martha Jane Mardis, 79, of Newcomerstown, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Southeastern Med, Cambridge.

She was born Thursday, Sept. 19, 1935, in Gnadenhutten, to the late John F. and Gladys L. (Crews) Brick.

She worked at Groovefold in Newcomerstown for 25 years. She was a lifelong Christian and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown, and attended and taught Sunday school at the Church of God in Newcomerstown.

On Saturday, May 2, 1953, she married William M. Mardis Jr., who died March 1, 2012.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Jane Baker; three sons, William M. (Brenda) Mardis III, John V. Mardis, Jack D. (Karen) Mardis, all of Newcomerstown; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beverly Kopp of Midvale and Vicki (William) Davis of Hilliard.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Page, Sylvia McCartney; her twin, Janet McDaniel; two infant sisters; brothers, Paul "Doc" Brick, John R. Brick and two infant brothers; brother-in-law, Russ McDaniel: and son-in-law, Don Baker.

Services were Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Eric Miller officiating.

Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.
