Hazel Garretson, 94, born in West Virginia on Sept. 19, 1921, was the daughter of the late Bill and Rosa Edwards.

She went to her heavenly home on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015.

Hazel had made her home with her daughter Pat and son-in-law, Don Herbert, for the past eight years.

She retired from NCR to enjoy time doing a few things that she loved. She enjoyed spending many hours gardening and making her yard look beautiful, making beautiful hand quilted blankets for each and every one of us, spending countless hours working a jig saw puzzle, crossword books and most importantly spending time with her loved ones.

She married Leroy Garretson, who passed away on Jan. 16, 1970.

She is survived by her sister, Wanita; her five children, Wilma (Rich) Russell, Gene (Donna) Edwards, Gary (Kathy) Garretson, Marylou (Ron) Sanker, Pat (Don) Herbert; grandchildren, Susan Mitchell, Mike (Julie) Kehl, Kim (Ray) Dillon, Shelly (Todd) Morrison, Pete (Melissa) Garretson, Julie (Jamie) Snyder, Lisa (Jeff) Stein, Lori Shaw, Leslie (Jason) Manning, Lori (Tony) Dallacheisa, Heather (Jay) Cochran, Jennifer (Craig) Malterer and Rachel Garretson; great-grandchildren, Shannon (Nate) Swigert, Erica Belt, Jake Belt, Paige and Megan McGarvey, Mitchell (Ashley) Kehl, Shane, Taylor, Alyssa, Quincy, Sawyer, Dane, Lindsey, Megan, Mollie, Marcus, Andrew,

Thomas, Zack, Isabella, Lauren, Lindsay, Hannah and Abby, Hayden and Tre; along with nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Leroy; her son, Randy; eight sisters and brothers; two sons-in-law, Tim Gram and Jerry Rose; and a step-grandson, Donnie Herbert.

Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Pastor Jay Rock officiating.

Burial was in the Community Chapel Cemetery.
