KIMBOLTON - Raymond Jesse Rose, 98, of Kimbolton went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 14, 2019 surrounded by family at Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehab. Center in Newcomerstown.
He was born Thursday, January 20, 1921 in Kimbolton to the late Charles T. and Mildred (Alloway) Rose. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Simonds Tool in Newcomerstown. When he was young, he worked at Charlie Ross’s Store in Kimbolton and a local coal mine. He enjoyed attending Kimbolton United Methodist Church twice a week and was a Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed walking and visiting friends in the neighborhood and will be missed by the Kimbolton Community. He loved listening to and watching Country music shows. Jesse played music, both the guitar and harmonica, most all his life with his brothers, sisters and friends, playing old country and gospel songs.
He is survived by two daughters, Jean Rose and Elaine Rose and her husband Jim Maxon, both of Kimbolton; five grandchildren, Lisa, Lori, Leslie, Jennifer and Michael; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a special friend, Jean Tidwell; former spouse, Shirley Rose of Cambridge; one sister, Becky Clarkston of Wasilla, AK. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry T. Rose; three brothers, Bud, Larry and Bill Rose; six sisters, Marge Stone, Martha Jane Beiter, Sara Julian, Mabel Montgomery, Lelia Rose and Carolyn Eckelberry.
Services will be Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 12 PM at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown with Pastor Ed Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Kimbolton Cemetery. Military Service will be conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
