We don't know the full story about former Police Chief Tim Miller.

Obviously, the allegations provided by village officials showed there were mistakes made but we should remember that he was not convicted of any crime nor even charged at this point.

A disciplinary hearing was canceled after he tendered his resignation but his resignation does not, in and of itself, constitute any admission of wrongdoing.

Regardless of the current situation, Miller gave nearly 20 years of service to the community, rising through the ranks of the Newcomerstown Police Department and serving under several chiefs before taking the reins himself.

It's a tough job and we're not in a position to cast stones.
