I hope you are all reading your Bibles to find the truth as Jesus said, "You will know the truth and it will make you free." John 8:32. Did you notice Paul's conversion? He had prayed for three days and still had his sins as they weren't washed away until he was baptized while calling upon the name of the Lord. His conversion is also in Acts 26 where he tells King Agrippa what happened.

Now to miracles. We have been misusing the word, miracle, and until we understand the true meaning we will be misled on God's truth today. The dictionary says, "miracle - a strange thing, an event or action that apparently contradicts known scientific laws and is hence thought to be due to super nature causes, an act of God."

Thus giving birth is not a miracle, neither is recovering from a disease, an earthquake, a serious injury etcetc. Notice some of the miracles in the Bible, there are many in the Old Testament, quite a few in the New Testament and as you read toward Revelation, they seem to dwindle away and there is a reason for that. Mark 16:20 says the signs and wonders were to confirm the word, in other words, prove these men were from God. That is how Jesus proved who he was. He also gave that power to the Twelve disciples, Mark 3: 14 and 15.

In Acts 1:5, they were soon to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. This allowed them later to lay hands on baptized believers that they might receive the Holy Spirit so they would be able to perform miracles. Read Acts 8 where Simon the Sorcerer became a Christian and in verse 18 he wanted to buy that power, he sinned!

The twelve apostles plus Paul were the only ones that could give the miraculous gifts, which healing was only one of nine, I Corinthians 12:8-11. In the infancy of the church they were needed until that which was perfect was to come, which was the written New Testament, the perfect will of God. Verse 8 of chapter 13 says prophecies will fail, tongues shall cease and miraculous knowledge shall vanish away. By the time Revelations was written John was the only living apostle and when he died, no more spiritual gifts could be given.

Think about it, can we really raise the dead, can we heal a person born crippled like Peter and John did in Acts chapter 3? They even got their knowledge miraculously where we have to study to be approved of God, so we won't be ashamed when Jesus comes. II Timothy 2:15.

Is Jesus coming again? Will there be a Judgement Day?
