WEST LAFAYTETTE -- The Generals lost two close ones to Heath on Saturday in a homestanding double header.

In game one, Derek Young's grand slam in the bottom of the seventh wasn't enough to overcome Heath's seven runs, as the Generals fell 7-6. Chris Roberts took the loss.

In game two, Ridgewood spotted Heath (8-6) a 12-6 lead by the fourth inning before coming back with five runs over the next three frames. Unfortunately the Orange and Black came up short, as the General's rally in the seventh only yielded one run before the game ended. Drew Markley, Andrew Gates, who was the losing pitcher, and Young each had two base hits for Ridgewood (8-8).

AKRON -- Indian Valley continued to roll through the Principal's Athletic Conference with an 11-8 win over the Royals on Friday.

The Braves (14-2, 8-0 PAC) pounded out 10 hits, including a three-run home from Alex Knecht. Bobby Hall and Logan Gray each had a double and single for the Red and Blue while Zach Baker came through with two singles. Johnny Iacobucci picked up the pitching win.

ZANESVILLE -- Zanesville Rosecrans defeated the Trojans twice on Friday in a double header.

In game one, Newcomerstown spotted Rosecrans an early 8-0 lead after three innings but came roaring back in the third, scoring eight runs to tie the game. But Rosecrans pulled ahead with two runs in their half of the inning and added two insurance runs later in the game.

Eric Martin, who suffered the mound loss, led the Orange and Black at the plate with a double and three singles. Tyler Craigo connected on a double and single while Caden McAffee had two singles.

In game two, pitcher Ethan Miller suffered a heart-breaker as he had a no-hitter going through six innings with his team ahead 1-0. But a leadoff single eventually came around to score, and eventually Rosecran's Austin Craig cracked a two-out home run to put the Trojans (5-13) out of commission.

Miller led the team on offense with two base hits.

The Trojans dropped a 12-2 decision to Inter-Valley Conference foe Tuscarawas Central Catholic on Thursday.

Travis Sampsel took the win for the Saints (5-7, 3-4 IVC), fanning four and walking one. Matt Litty led the TCC bats, cracking a home run and a single to go with three RBI. Brandon Sweet finished with five RBI.

For the Trojans (5-11, 1-7 IVC), J.C. Rine took the loss on the mound with one strikeout and one walk in one-third of an inning.

Eric Martin accounted for a single and an RBI while Rine and Doug Dorsey had Newcomerstown's other two hits.

Derrick Young got the win on the mound as the Tigers scored their only run in the seventh inning. Young also led the Generals (8-6, 5-2 IVC) at the plate with three base hits. Nathan Kanouff had a triple and double for Strasburg.

UHRICHSVILLE -- Indian Valley thumped Claymont on Thursday in a non-conference game, 18-6.

The Braves were tied 0-0 after two innings of play but erupted for seven runs in the third inning. After spotting the Mustangs (6-8) six runs over the next three frames, the Red and Blue erupted again, only this time for 11 plate crossings in the top of the seventh.

For Indian Valley (4-8), Lucas Ripley clubbed a home run and three singles, Logan Gray cracked a homer and base hit, and Andy Allensworth connected on three singles. Logan Cozart got the win on the mound.

BERLIN -- Hiland used an 11-run second inning to break the game open in a 16-6 rout of Newcomerstown in Inter-Valley Conference play on Wednesday.

The Hawks pounded out 13 hits, led by Hayden Mobley with a triple, two singles and four RBI and Derek Kaufman with a triple, single and three RBI. Kaufman and Brad Schlabach split mound duty for Hiland (7-2, 4-1 IVC), teaming four two strikeouts and five walks.

Cameron Wolf took the loss for Newcomerstown (5-10, 1-6 IVC), fanning four and walking seven before giving way to Paul Matthews in the fourth. Matthews had one strikeout and four walks.

Wolf led the Trojans at the plate with two doubles, two singles and an RBI. Doug Dorsey nailed a double, single and an RBI; Eric Martin smashed a three-run homer; and Ethan Miller laced two singles.

GNADENHUTTEN -- The Braves dominated Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy on Wednesday, 11-1, to stay unbeaten in the Principal's Athletic Conference.

Indian Valley (12-2, 7-0 IVC) scored five runs in the first inning and kept piling on until the game was called after five innings. Matt Wheeler launched two solo home runs to lead the charge while Johnny Iacobucci, who was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts, blasted a three-run double in the first inning.

The Royals (6-4, 3-3 PAC) were led by Matt Corpora's home run.

Homestanding Newcomerstown used a four run sixth to put away Tusky Valley 7-2 on Tuesday in a non-conference game.

Ethan Miller pitched a complete game for the Trojans (5-9), striking out eight with two walks.

Cameron Wolf led the Trojan hit parade with a double, two singles and three RBI. Braeden Fitzgibbon and Miller each added a pair of singles while Tyler Craigo hit a pair of singles with two RBI.

Brian Binsley was the leading hitter for the Tusky Valley with a single and two RBI.

Kyle Bradford got the win for Ridgewood (7-4, 2-4 IVC) as he struck out eight in a complete game effort. Drew Markley nailed a two-run round trip shot in the first inning.

Matt Litty absorbed the loss for the Saints (4-6, 2-4 IVC).

Bill Ruegsegger got the win in game one on a two-hitter. Logan Gray had a double and single for the Braves while Adam Mizer laced two base hits. In game two, Logan Cozart was credited with the mound win. Lucas Ripley connected on a home run and had four RBIs while Cozart smacked a double and single. The Braves are now 11-2.

WOOSTER -- The Generals dropped a twinbill to Tri-Valley last Saturday by scores of 10-0 and 5-4.

Derek Young took the mound loss in game one. He also had a double in the game. In game two, the Titans broke a 4-4 game with an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth for the win. Young cracked two doubles in the game while losing pitcher Tyler McCullough also had a double for Ridgewood (6-6). Tri-Valley is now 8-1.
