NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The Trojans were eliminated from sectional tournament play by Sandy Valley on Saturday, 2-1.
Newcomerstown scored their lone run in the third inning and led most of the way. But with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals scored two runs courtesy of a bases-loaded walk and a hit batter.
Doug Dorsey took the loss on the mound for Newcomerstown (7-18). Cody Welker had a double and single for Sandy Valley (19-2).

Ridgewood 4, Coshocton 3
NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The Generals won their opening round tournament game with an exciting 4-3 win over Coshocton on Saturday.
With the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth, winning pitcher Kyle Bradford smashed a walk-off home run to turn the lights on the Redskins (6-16).
Ryan Gress and Logan Smith each laced two singles for Ridgewood (12-11). Logan Huebner had a home run for Coshocton.

Ridgewood 5, Hiland 4
WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Generals scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh to break a 4-4 tie for an IVC win over the Hawks on Friday.
The Generals scored three runs in the first inning and were leading 4-0 when Hiland scored three in the sixth and another in the top of the seventh to tie the game.
Tyler McCullough was the winning pitcher. Leading at the plate for the Generals (11-11, 8-5 IVC) was Derrick Young, who had a two-run homer.

Indian Valley 11, Tusky Valley 2
ZOAR -- The Braves claimed the Principals Athletic Conference title in their first year in the league by overpowering Tusky Valley, 11-2, on Friday.
Indian Valley (18-2, 12-0 PAC), who is also ranked fifth in Division III, scored three runs in the first inning for all they would need to win the game. Starter Adam Mizer and reliever Billy Ruegsegger combined on the mound for a two-hitter as the Trojans could only muster two runs in the second inning for their only scores.
The Cardinals clubbed 11 hits with Bobby Hall cracking a two-run homer, Matt Wheeler lacing two singles and a double. Andy Allensworth and Logan Gray both had a double and single. Joe Patton had a double for Tusky Valley (5-14, 3-8 PAC).

Sandy Valley 11, Newcomerstown 1
MAGNOLIA -- Jordan Tozzi limited visiting Newcomerstown to a single hit as Sandy Valley picked up an 11-1 six-inning Inter-Valley Conference win on Thursday.
Tozzi pitched the first five innings striking out seven and giving up three free passes with Billy Knoy coming on in the sixth to add a pair of strikeouts.
Eric Martin suffered the loss for the Trojans (7-17, 3-11 IVC) with no strikeouts and one walk in three innings of work. Cameron Wolf came on in relief in the fourth, fanning one and giving up seven walks while Paul Matthews finished it off in the sixth inning with no strikeouts or walks.
Catcher Hayden McAfee had the lone hit for the Trojans, an RBI single in the first frame.
Sandy Valley (18-2, 8-2 IVC) was paced by Tozzi with a three-run home run and a single.

Malvern 10, Newcomerstown 9
MALVERN -- Doug Wood hit a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lead Malvern past Newcomerstown, 10-9, on Tuesday in Inter-Valley Conference action.
Trailing 9-7, the Hornets (16-3, 7-3 IVC) scored three runs in the last two innings to rally for victory.
J.C. Rine took the loss for the Trojans (7-15, 3-10 IVC), striking out two and walking one. Vince Larson pitched the top of the seventh to get the win for the Hornets.
Cameron Wolf led the Trojans with a single, home run and four RBI, followed by Doug Dorsey with two doubles and two RBI. Rine had two singles and three RBI.
Ethan Miller added a single, double and triple while Eric Martin had two singles.
Sean Kettering had a single, home run and four RBI for Malvern and Wood added a single, a home run and three RBI.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Generals lost a heartbreaker in the 12th inning to Garaway on Tuesday, 7-6, in an Inter-Valley Conference battle.
After finishing regulation play tied 2-2, the Pirates scored four runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead. But Ridgewood (10-11, 7-5 IVC) came storing back with four runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning to tie things up again.
An RBI single by Garaway's Spencer Festi in the 12th inning provide the winning margin, as the Generals had no answer when they came up to bat. The Pirates lead the IVC with an 11-1 record (14-6 overall).
Tyler McCullough took the mound loss for Ridgewood while Greg Moomaw got the win. The Generals were led at the plate by Derrick Young and Skylor Dennis, both with three singles. Ryan Gress had two base hits while McCullough connected on a double.

The Trojans fell to Ridgewood, 9-0, in Inter-Valley Conference action on Monday.
Kyle Bradford fired a one-hitter as he struck out nine in a complete game for Ridgewood (10-10, 7-4 IVC). Ethan Miller was tagged with the loss for Newcomerstown (7-15, 3-9 IVC). He struck out seven and walked five in six innings of work
Paul Matthews' single, a grounder to the shortstop that he beat out, was the lone hit for the Trojans.
Tyler McCullough led Ridgewood with a crushing home run and three RBI. Derrick Young also clubbed one out of the park and had two RBI.

Braves beat Tusky Valley
GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley had little problem with Tusky Valley as they rolled to a 10-4 Principals Athletic Conference with on Monday. The win kept the team undefeated in league play at 11-0 (17-2 overall).
The Braves scored five runs in the first inning for all they would need on the scoreboard. The Trojans rallied for three runs in the seventh inning but came up way short as the final out was recorded.
Andy Allensworth smashed a three-un shot over the fence to lead the first inning charge for the Braves. He ended the game with six RBIs total. Teammate Johnny Iacobucci smacked a double and single.
