MIDVALE -- Manchester defeated Indian Valley in a one-sided affair on Friday, 53-7, in a Principals Athletic Conference matchup.
The Panthers racked up 28 points in the first quarter alone as four different players scored touchdowns. Tyler Masters scored on a 50-yard run, Craig Dougherty scored from the two, Matt King from the nine, and Mattioli raced 26 yards with an interception to paydirt.
Manchester wasn't done there. The PAC leaders scored another 19 in the second quarter, including a 34-yard interception return by Nate Plum, for a 47-0 halftime lead.
Indian Valley got on the scoreboard in the third frame when Dakota Sentz ran it in from the 11. Jorge Lima added the extra point to make it 47-7. The Panthers added one more score in the fourth period, a 45 yards pass from Edwards to Leon Peykov.
Quarterback Steve King finished 6-of-9 passing for 81 yards with one touchdown and one interception for the Panthers (5-1, 3-0 PAC). Masters ended up with 61 yards on four carries. Kyle Dougherty hauled in two receptions for 34 yards and a TD.
Sentz rushed for 49 yards on 13 carries for the Braves, who could only muster 109 yards of offense, including 88 on the ground compared to 322 for the Panthers.
Indian Valley (2-4, 1-2 PAC) travels to Shreve to take on Triway this Friday. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm.
