NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The Lady Trojans continued to roll on Thursday, using a strong first half to pull away from the Lady Saints en route to a 53-44 IVC victory.

Newcomerstown (15-2, 11-2 IVC) evenly split 26 points over the first two quarters, building a seven-point lead after the first quarter behind the strong play of Kori Conner. Central Catholic got five points from Millie Patchan in the opening round.

Allie Hinton led the Orange and Black in the second period with seven as her team pushed the lead from seven to 11, leading 26-15 at the half.

Patchan scored seven in the third round for the Lady Saints, however Steph Felton also had a strong quarter for the Lady Trojans with six as the visitors upped their lead to 12, 40-28.

Felton again had a strong final quarter, eventually finishing with 17 points to lead Newcomerstown scoring. She also snagged eight rebounds. Hinton added 11 points and Conner finished with 10. Chelsea Fenton and Taylor Postel each tacked on another six tallies.

Patchan scored a game-high 19 for the Lady Saints and Becky Russell added 11.

Lake Center Christian 22

CANTON -- The Lady Trojans had little trouble on Monday night with homestanding Lake Center Christian as they dominated with a convincing 80-22 victory in a non-league match-up.

Newcomerstown jumped out to a quick 20-2 lead after the opening quarter of action with sophomore Allie Hinton leading the way with six points in the frame.

The Lady Trojans increased their lead to 39-13 by halftime with a 19-11 scoring edge in the second stanza as senior Steph Felton fired in eight points to lead the charge.

With the victory, the Lady Trojans improved to an impressive 14-2 mark on the season.

Newcomerstown got two double-doubles on the night, as Felton finished with a game-high 22 points to go with 12 rebounds while Hinton finished with 12 points and 13 assists. Kori Conner and Allison Snyder both reached double figures as they knocked down 17 and 12 points respectively.

Erica Roberts tacked on six.

Lake Center Christian was led by Olivia Myers with 11 points.

No reserve game was played.
