SUGARCREEK -- Duane Troyer pitched a three-hitter to lead the Pirates to an 11-1 victory over the Trojans in an IVC game on Thursday.

Garaway pulled ahead to a 6-0 lead and then piled on five more in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the mercy rule.

Doug Dorsey absorbed the loss on the mound for the Trojans (0-8, 0-6 IVC) but did have a shining spot at the plate when he crushed a triple.

Toby Miller led the Pirates (8-2, 5-2 IVC) at the plate with a double, two singles, and two RBI as the team finished with 13 hits overall.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Generals used a strong first inning to coast to a 9-3 Inter-Valley Conference win over the Cardinals on Thursday.

Ridgewood (11-5, 5-2 IVC) jumped out with five runs to start the game and never relinquished the lead.

Skylor Dennis, Thomas Ellis, and Brian McElhaney each came through with a double and single to pace the Generals 10-hit attack.

Ellis was credited with the win while Colin Schilmm took the loss for the Cardinals.

Zanesville 5, Indian Valley 4

ZANESVILLE -- The Braves tied the game in the top of the sixth inning with a run but the Blue Devils got it back in the bottom half to come away with a 5-4 non-conference win on Thursday.

Chase Burcher was strong at the plate for Indian Valley (7-5) with two doubles and a single while teammate Dusty Byers collected two doubles. Kyle Lehigh took the loss on the mound.

Andy Paxson got the win for Zanesville (9-1).

Malvern 4, Newcomerstown 1

The Trojans are still searching for that elusive first victory of the season after suffering a 4-1 setback to Malvern in an Inter-Valley Conference match-up on Monday.

Malvern's Sean Kettering proved to be the difference in this IVC contest, tossing a complete game three-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk to pick up the win. Kettering aided his own cause by belting a three-run home run to pace the Hornets (3-5, 2-3 IVC).

Senior Tyler Craigo took the pitching loss for the Trojans (0-7, 0-5 IVC), finishing with four strikeouts and five walks.

Newcomerstown got base hits from Doug Dorsey, Caleb Fenton and Bubba Harris.

Ridgewood 6, Strasburg 2

STRASBURG -- The Generals ran their record to 4-2 in the IVC and 9-5 overall with a 6-2 win over the Tigers on Monday.

Zak Keesee gave up two runs while striking out five and walking one in four innings of work to pick up the win. He also had two base hits and one RBI. Dakota Albertson came through with a two-run double in the second inning when the Generals scored three runs. Skylor Dennis had two singles and an RBI while Jake Bone finished with two base hits.

Ryan Froman, who nailed a triple, was tagged with the loss for the Strasburg (2-8, 0-4 IVC).

GNADENHUTTEN -- The Braves took down the Royals by a 9-4 count on Monday in a PAC contest.

Kyle Lehigh came through with the pitching win for Indian Valley (6-4, 5-2 PAC). Bat support came from Jonathon Howard, who had a double and single, and Zane Shuss and Holden Fellers, who both ripped two singles.
