MIDVALE Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy came from behind with 18 seconds left in the game to emerge a 22-18 winner over Indian Valley on Friday in Principals Athletic Conference action.

Nathan Rosenberger scored from the one to put the Royals (3-2, 2-0 PAC) ahead and the Braves simply did not have enough time to respond after the ensuing kickoff. They made a go of it though, completing two passes that got them close enough to try a desperation attempt into the Royals end zone that harmlessly dropped to the ground.

CVCA got the only score in the first half, a five-yard run by Shawn Jordan, and led at halftime 7-0.

It was all Braves in the third quarter. Freshman Jake Davis, who lit up the field for Indian Valley by rushing for 166 yards on 29 carries on the night, scored the first of his two touchdowns. Dominic Bell scored the other on a one-yard run to put his team up 12-7 after three quarters of play, as the extra point attempts failed both times.

Davis scored on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter but the Braves were once again not able to succeed on the two-point conversion to keep their lead at 18-7. The Royals got the first of Rosenbergers one-yard scoring plunges to close the gap to 18-15. That included Mike Kortze two-point conversion to make it a three-point game.

Rosenbergers winning run and the successful PAT came soon after, accounting for the 22-18 final.

Indian Valley (2-3, 1-1 PAC) had a significant advantage in total yardage, 321-201. That included 239 on the ground and 82 through the air for the Braves, while the Royals had 151 rushing and 50 passing. Indian Valley had one turnover while CVCA had none.
