GNADENHUTTEN -- Visiting Triway pinned a close 25-23, 26-24, 25-23 defeat on Indian Valley in Tuesday PAC volleyball action.

Despite the setback, Indian Valley (8-4, 4-3 PAC) had some standout individual efforts. Setters Sydney Kandray and Bailey Stull combined for 28 assists; hitter Ashley Reynolds pounded 16 kills to compliment a pair of blocks and 15 digs; and Harlie Crouse added a dozen digs.

STRASBURG -- Ridgewood High upended host Strasburg in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action on Tuesday by scores of 25-11, 25-6, 25-15.

Laura Frazee tallied 12 points and 14 kills to lead RHS, while Erika Michael chipped in with 10 points (2 aces) and 16 assists and Amanda Lowery added five kills and six blocks. Victoria Wiggins contributed 10 points, eight kills and 10 assists for the Lady Generals while Abbey Youngen finished with 10 points (2 aces) and 13 digs; Allie Dobson racked up five kills; Morgan McDorman added 10 digs and Kelsey Miller chalked up eight points (4 aces) eight kills, seven blocks and eight digs.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Visiting Malvern High claimed a three set, 25-22, 25-9, 25-17 win over Newcomerstown in Inter-Valley Conference play on Tuesday.

Bright spots for the Lady Trojans (2-8, 0-6 IVC) were Cydney McMillan, who contributed seven kills; Alicia Moore, who recorded seven assists' Alyson Rexroad, who drilled six ace serves and added a dozen digs.

GNADENHUTTEN--Indian Valley picked up its ninth victory of the season, defeating Canton Timken in three sets, 25-11, 25-8 and 25-6 on Thursday.

The Lady Braves (9-4, 5-3 PAC) got 11 points (3 aces) from Meggie Kennedy; nine points and 12 kills from Ashley Reynolds; nine points each from Bailey Stull and Brittiani Garbrandt and 12 assists from Sydney Kandray.

The IV junior varsity team won, 25-3, 25-8 to improve to 10-3 overall and 7-3 in the PAC. Courtney Mizer had 16 points (6 aces); Stefanie Risher had nine points; and Garbrandt added eight tallies (6 aces).

IV's freshman squad also prevailed, 25-10 and 25-23 to move to 6-2 on the year. Sydney Sayre scored 10 for the Lady Braves.

MAGNOLIA -- Visiting Newcomerstown High garnered its first Inter-Valley Conference win Thursday in three straight sets over the host Sandy Valley Lady Cardinals by scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-23.

Cydney McMillan paced the Lady Trojans with 13 kills, eight points (four aces) and 13 digs. Alyson Rexroad also hammered 13 kills and collected 14 digs; Marlayna McIntire slamming seven kills to go with three blocks; Kara Jenkins tacked on seven kills with five blocks and 10 points; and Alisha Moore dished out 32 assists.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood High remained near the top of the Inter-Valley Conference standings with a tough, hard-fought five set win over visiting Garaway on Thursday. The Lady Generals won the opening set by a score of 25-20, but Garaway rebounded to claim the next two sets by scores of 25-23 and 29-27. Ridgewood evened the match in the fourth set with a 25-17 win and then battled to a 18-16 win in the fifth and deciding set for the 3-2 win.

The Lady Generals (11-2, 6-1 IVC) were led in scoring by Victoria Wiggins with 16 points, including an ace and she also handed out 24 assists and recorded 16 digs. Morgan McDorman added 15 points (3 aces) and 24 digs, Kelsy Miller scored 10 points with three aces, while hammering 25 kills and 13 blocks. Erika Michael chipped in with eight points including an ace, dished out 20 assists and led the defense with 34 digs. In net action, Laura Frazee added 17 kills and Amanda Lowery tacked on 12 stops.

"I am really proud of the girls," Ridgewood coach Dan Smith said. "They battled through adversity for the win tonight. Garaway is a scrappy team and gave us fits at times. Our back row players did a nice job getting the ball up front for our offense."

Garaway claimed a two-set win in the junior varsity match Thursday by identical scores of 25-23. Danielle Bates paced the young Lady Generals (5-8, 3-4 IVC) with nine points.

NAVARRE -- Newcomerstown High earned a split in a volleyball triangular Saturday hosted by Fairless High School, beating Coshocton in two sets (25-20 and 25-13) and falling to Fairless in two sets (25-16 and 25-15).

Against Coshocton, Cydeny McMillan paced the Lady Trojans with 11 kills, 11 digs, four aces and three blocks. Marlayna McIntire added six kills, Alisha Moore handed out 17 assists and Lydia Lehman scored seven points.

Against Fairless, Newcomerstown (4-9) was again paced by McMillan with six kills, nine digs, two aces and five points. Moore recorded 11 digs, Kara Jenkins added three kills and three blocks, Alyson Rexroad had three kills and six digs and Karlee Peach tallied five points.
