GNADENHUTTEN -- The Indian Valley High spikers rebounded from a season opening setback to Claymont by pounding visiting Canton Timken by scores of 25-9, 25-9, 25-6 in their PAC opener.

Timken had no answer for the Lady Braves' tough serving as Ashley Reynolds, Sydney Kandray and Bailey Stull combined for 23 aces.

Reynolds also led the winners with seven kills and Stull dished out eight assists..

Indian Valley posted easy wins in each lower level match, with the jayvees earning 25-3, 25-16 win and the freshmen scoring a 25-9, 25-14 triumph.


NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Visiting Claymont handed Newcomerstown High a 25-16, 25-18, 25-8 non-league setback to spoil the Lady Trojans' opener.

Despite the setback, Newcomerstown (0-1, 0-0 IVC) got a solid game at the net from Erin Burrier, who recorded four kills and seven blocks. Teammates Lydia Lehman and Alyson Raymond combined for 26 digs, while setter Alicia Moore was credited with eight assists.


GNADENHUTTEN -- Visiting River View High rolled to a three-game sweep of Indian Valley in non-league volleyball action on Thursday night.

The Lady Bears picked up wins by scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-19 to register the road win.

Sydney Kandray tallied 10 points, 16 assists and 11 digs for the Lady Braves (1-2), while Ashley Reynolds chipped in with 17 kills, 14 digs and Steff Risher added 13 digs.
