WEST LAFAYETTE -- New Philadelphia High upended Barnesville and host Ridgewood in girls' golf action at River Greens Golf Course.

The Lady Quakers tallied a 193 for the win, with the Lady Shamrocks runner-up with 241 and the Lady Generals finished with 259.

Leading the way for the Lady Quakers (3-1), was the medalist of the match Rachel Leggett with a 44 followed by Julie McClain, 46; Hayley Jo Thacher, 51; and Jenna Hal, 52.SClBThe Lady Shamrocks (1-3) were led by Ciara Bauman with a 58, followed by Paige Hayes, 59; and Maci Mcendree and Makayla Flood with a 61 and 63 respectively.

Ridgewood drops to (0-5) and was lead by Kaitlyn Finton, 56; Amanda Matchett, 57; Sam Wilson, 61; and Tyra Reed, 85.SClB*****

DOVER -- The Indian Valley boys' golf team out distanced Tuscarawas C.C in their dual golf match at the Union Country Club.

A total of 17 strokes separated the Braves with a team score of 166 from the Saints 183.

Indian Valley was paced by Shawn Mills who shot a 38, followed by Mitchell Lehigh with a 41; Jaden Hartzler, 43; and Jerrett Helter, 44.

The Saints' were led by the medalist of the match Curtis Sandy who shot a 37, the remainder of the scorers included Brandon Matlick with a 46; Jeremy Krese, 49; and Bryan Mahaffey and Jared Scolati who both shot 51.


SUGARCREEK -- The Strasburg Tigers were able to outdistance Garaway and Indian Valley in golf action at Willandale Golf Course.

Strasburg (191) finished 19 strokes ahead of runner-up Garaway (210) while Indian Valley (217) rounded out the field.

The Braves were paced by medalist Kelli Carroll, who finished with a 42 followed by Amber Ruscin, 55; Kara Barger, 59 and Amanda Jones, 61.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Hiland High held off the Newcomerstown Trojans in Inter-Valley Conference golf action at par 36 Hickory Flats golf course.

Hiland finsihed at 158 to top the Trojans total of 193 in the match.

With the loss, the Trojans slip to 1-3 on the young season.

Despite the loss, NHS coach Frank Ackerman was still pleased with the progress of his young team.

"We are showing signs of improvement," Ackerman said. "We are still struggling posting that third and fourth score...but overall our scores are steadily going down."

Hiland was paced by the medalist of the match Tyler Grate with a 37, followed by Brandon Raber, 39 and Jacob Kalman and Mark Schlabach who both shot a 41.SClBThe Trojans' low man was Jared Brooks with a 43, followed closely by Zach Gibson with a 43, with Brandon Tanksley at 50 and Cody Rothacher with a round of 58.


MASSILLON -- Visiting Indian Valley bested host Tuslaw by a 155-193 score at the Elms Country Club in Massillon. With the win the Braves improve to 5-0 on the season. Leading Indian Valley was match medalist Mitchell Lehigh who cared an even-par 35. Shawn Mills was close behind firing a 38, while Jadan Hartzler and Jarrett Helter each carded a 41 to complete the Indian Valley team score.

Leading Tuslaw was King with a 46 and he was followed by Lombardi (48), LeMasters (49) and Fritz with a 50.


BOLIVAR -- The struggles continued for the Ridgewood High girls' golf team on with a 211-250 loss to visiting Sandy Valley in Inter-Valley Conference golf action at Wilkshire Golf Course.

With the loss, the Lady Generals slip to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in IVC action.

Samantha Wilson led RHS with a 53, followed by Kaitlyn Finton with 56, Amamnda Matchett shot 57 and Tyra Reed finished with an 84.

Sandy Valley's Maddy Russell shot a 46 to earn medalist honors.


NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Behind the play of co-medalist Kelli Carroll and Amber Ruscin, the Indian Valley Lady Braves defeated Dalton 211-228 in girls' golf action at Green Valley Golf Club.

Carroll and Ruscin each fired a 47 on the front nine to share the match medalist honors. Rounding out the team scoring for the Lady Braves was Amanda Jones and Kara Barger each shooting a 59.

The low scorer for Dalton carded a 48, but no names were provided. The other scores making up the team total were 50, 60 and 70.


MINERVA -- Malvern High defeated visiting Newcomerstown by a 165-196 score in Inter-Valley Conference golf action at Great Trail Golf Course.

Leading the way for Malvern (9-1) was co-medalist Jaret Majastic with a score of 39, followed by Noah McKinney, 40; Mitch Loomis, 41 and Cameron Glick, 45.

The Trojans were led by co-medalist Zach Gibson with a 39, followed by Jared Brooks with a 45; Brandon Tanksley at 52 and Tance Brandon with a 62. SClB*****

UHRICHSVILLE -- For the second consecutive night, Indian Valley's Kelli Carroll shared the match medalist honors as the Lady Braves slipped past the rival Claymont Lady Mustangs, 182-189, in girls' prep golf action at Big Bend Golf Course.

Carroll shared medalist honors with Claymont's Sami Dorland as each fired a 42. Other scorers for the Lady Braves (3-5) were Amanda Jones with a 44, Amber Ruscin in at 46 and Kara Barger rounded out the team scoring shooting a 50.

Following Dorland for Claymont (2-6) was Carley Henry carding a 47 and Marija Cottis was close behind at 48. Kassidy Foltz rounded out the Lady Mustangs' team scoring shooting a 52.


DOVER --Indian Valley High finished third in the annual Dover Golf Invitational at Oak Shadows Golf Course.

Host Dover won the event with a 315-stroke total, with Hiland (328) as the runner-up and Indian Valley (331) in third place.

Hiland's Mark Schlabach was the individual medalist with a 72 while Dover's Cogan Warther was the runner-up medalist with a 73.

Mitchell Lehigh paced Indian Valley with a ninth place total of 79. Other Braves included Shawn Mills (82), Jarrett Helter (84) and Brett Rentsch (86).
