SUGARCREEK -- The Ridgewood High girls' golf team was upended in dual match play, dropping a 203-266 decision to Strasburg at Willandale Golf Course.

Strasburg's Alyssa Wolfe carded a 45 to take match medalist honors.

For Ridgewood (0-7, 0-3 IVC), Samantha Wilson led with a 60, followed closely by Amanda Matchett, who shot a 61. Kaitlyn Finton and Tyra Reed completed the Lady Generals' scoring with a 64 and 81, respectively.


WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Indian Valley boys' golf team picked up a victory over the Claymont Mustangs by a 168-182 score at River Greens Golf Course.

The Braves were paced by co-match medalists Shawn Mills and Mitchell Lehigh who shot 41s, followed by Jarrett Helter and Jadan Hartzler, who shot 43s.

Claymont was led by Gage Basiletti with a 42 followed by Alex Wright, 44; Clay Swaney, 47 and Cody Burcher, 49.SClB*****

SUGARCREEK -- Indian Valley and host Strasburg finished deadlocked at 165 as part of a three-team golf match at Willandale Golf Course, but the Tiger linksters were awarded the win due to a fifth man tie-breaker score. Ridgewood finished with a 186 total for third place.

Indian Valley's Shawn Mills and Mitchell Lehigh each fired 39s to pace the Braves. Teammates Jadan Hartzler and Jarrett Helter added a 42 and 45, respectively.

For Ridgewood, Brice Dennis led the way with a 45, followed closely by Nick Blakley's 46. Wesley Cochran shot a 47 and Nathan Hoffman carded a 48.

Strasburg's Mitch Niedenthal took medalist honors by firing a two-over par 38.


WEST LAFAYETTE -- The host Newcomerstown High golfers dropped a 173-194 dual match decision to River View at Hickory Flats.

Newcomerstown's Jared Brooks and River View's Ross Anglin each carded 40s to share medalist honors.

The remainder of the Newcomerstown (1-5) scores showed Zach Gibson with a 45, Brendan Tanksley with a 54 and Codi Rothacher with a 55.


WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Ridgewood High girls' golf team finished third behind Tri-Valleya nd Strasburg in a triangular match. Tri-Valley finsihed with a 205-stroke total followed by Strasburg (211) and Ridgewood (260).

Tri-Valley's Siena Shirer led all scoring with a 42.

Ridgewood (0-9, 0-3 IVC) was led by Kaitlyn Finton with a 57, followed by Samantha Wilson with a 58. Amanda Matchett carded a 65 and Tyra Reed had an 84.
