WEST LAFAYETTE -- Host Ridgewood High rolled to an easy 56-14 Inter Valley Conference win over Strasburg on Friday.
The Generals (3-2, 1-1 IVC) led by just one TD early in the second period, but another pair of scores sent them into a comfortable 28-6 halftime lead.
Ridgewood struck first about half way through the opening period when Tevis Whitt hauled in a 26-yard aerial from Ryan Lowe. Whitt then added the extra-point for a 7-0 lead.
With less than two minutes remaining in the first, the Generals' Garrett Bethel scored on a five-yard run. Another Whitt kick sent the locals into the second period up 14-0.
Strasburg (3-2, 1-1 IVC) answered with a five-yard TD pass from Landry Hostetler to Danny Mauch. The two-point run try failed.
Ridgewood put the game out of reach with another pair of TDs to close out the second quarter.
Billy Bailey scored on a two-yard run and Whitt hauled in a 38-yard strike from Lowe. Another pair of Whitt placements sent Ridgewood to the half up, 28-6.
Short TD runs by the Generals' Zach Donley and Alex Froston in the third quarter were followed by two more successful PAT kicks.
Two more Ridgewood runners got into the scoring act in the final frame as Cole Lillibridge and Kyle Bethel tallied TD runs of 23 and eight yards, respectively.
Whitt kicked the final pair of his eight extra-points to cap off a perfect night.
A late one- yard TD by Strasburg's Hostetler followed by a two-point pass completed the game's scoring.
Pacing the Ridgewood effort was QB Ryan Lowe and receiver Tevis Whitt. The pair connected for two scoring aerials. Lowe threw for 69 yards. Donley led the ground game with 91 yards on 16 carries while Garrett Bethel added 74 yards on eight carries.
Ridgewood amassed 320 rushing yards and held the Tiger to 120 total yards. The winners also rolled up 20 first downs to just seven for Strasburg.
Strasburg (3-2, 1-1 IVC) got a rushing TD and a passing TD from Landry Hostetler.
