It's that time of year again! Track season had barely begun when two of Newcomerstown Middle School's eighth grade students set new school records, breaking their own from last year.

On Friday, April 11 at Garaway, Brittney Roth, daughter of Robert and Nicole Roth, set a new school record of 5:34:00 in the 1600 meter run, beating her old record of 53:4.3 from last year. Then on Monday, April 21, Brittney broke her own record again, during the home track meet against Ridgewood and Hiland, setting a new time of 5:33.7.

Ryan Stevens, son of Don and Lori Stevens, beat his previous record of 11-foot in the pole vault from last year, by vaulting 12-foot at the Claymont Invite on April 10. He turned right around and beat that record, improving with a vault of 12-foot, 3-inch at the home tri-meet against Tuscarawas Central Catholic and Malvern on April 14.
