MALVERN -- A fast start helped lift Ridgewood High to a 9-2 victory over Malvern in Inter-Valley Conference baseball action on Monday.

The Generals plated four runs in the top of the first frame to leap out to a quick 4-0 advantage over the host Hornets.

Dillan Shepler recorded the win for RHS, finishing with one strikeout and one walk in three innings of work.

RHS finished with 10 hits in the contest, with Alex Croston belting a triple and single, while Ryan Lowe doubled and singled. Jon Barker added an RBI double for the Generals.

Malvern was held to just three hits, with Xavier Mottice stroking a double.

Indian Valley 17,

Canton Timken 0

CANTON - The Indian Valley Braves hammered Canton Timken on Monday by a 17-0 final score.

The Braves had a 12 run first inning and coasted to victory with the 'mercy' rule was put into effect after the fifth inning.

Indian Valley improves to 11-4 and 7-1 in the PAC with the win. Konnor Cool got the victory for the Braves throwing a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts.

Easton Guspyt led the Braves' offene with a double and two singles, while Jake Davis added a triple, double, and five RBIs.

Ridgewood 7,

Strasburg 6

STRASBURG -- Visiting Ridgewood High collected a tight 7-6 victory over Strasburg in Inter-Valley Conference baseball action on Tuesday afternoon.

The Generals used a three run sixth inning rally to pick up the victory.

RHS freshman Braeden Smith tossed a complete game to pick up the win, finishing with one walk and no strikeout.

The Generals banged out 10 hits in the contest, with Alex Croston leading the way with three singles. Ryan Lowe and Dillan Shepler each added a double an single, and Smith aided his own cause with a double.

Tom Addy led the Tigers with a triple and single, while Mitch Spinell ripped a pair of doubles.

Indian Valley 13,

Canton Timken 0

CANTON -- Indian Valley High used a huge second inning explosion to roll past host Canton Timken by a 13-0 final in a five-inning mercy contest in PAC baseball action.

The Braves racked up nine runs n the huge second inning uprising to key the lopsided victory.

Indian Valley got home runs from Garron Fawcett with a three-run blast and Colton Frink who added a solo shot. Coby Eckstein, Shawn Mills and Jake Davis each added two singles for the winner.

Jack Bierbower picked up the win on the mound for Indian Valley (12-4, 8-1 PAC), finishing with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Tuslaw 9,

MASSILLON -- Indian Valley suffered a rough road trip on Thursday night, dropping a 9-1 decision to the host Tuslaw High Mustangs in a PAC baseball match-up.

John Allen of Tuslaw held the Braves to just one run on three hits to collect the win.

Shawn Mills absorbed the loss for the Braves (12-5, 8-2 PAC), finishing with eight strikeouts and six walks.

Brady Cotsmire led the Braves' limited offense with a double.

George Lau ripped a pair of doubles to pace Tuslaw, with Blake Wake finishing with two singles.

Garaway 4,

Newcomerstown 3

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- In a Inter-Valley Conference game originally scheduled at Garaway, rain to the north forced the site to be moved to Newcomerstown where the Trojans played as visitors on their home field as the Pirates squeezed out a 4-3 win on Friday.

Garaway got all its runs the first two innings with one the first and three the second. Newcomerstown matched the solo run the first, but could only manage single runs the sixth and seventh innings to drop the 4-3 decision.

Corey Yoder picked up the win on the mound with a complete game effort, striking out three and walking three. Zack Gibson also went the distance on the hill and took the hard-luck loss, fanning one and walking none.

Newcomerstown (5-17, 4-8 IVC) outhit the Pirates, 7-6, led by Cole Hinton with a double and single to drive in two runs and also scored once. Ethan Slentz had a double and single with two RBI for Garaway and Brandon Johnson added a pair of singles.
