Newcomerstown native Whit Parks is back in the coaching business.
After watching from the sidelines for the last two years, Parks will be back on the sidelines again, this time as head football coach at Fort Loramie High School.
Parks, who will have his son Ty as a member of his coaching staff, is a 34-year coaching veteran who has amassed a 194-148 career record that includes stints at Danville (1975-1979), Fredericktown (1979-1980), Mount Vernon (1981-1983), Zanesville (1984-1990 and 1994-1998), Bishop Rosecrans (1991-1993), Minster (1999-2005) and Maysville (2008-2012).
Fort Loramie is a Division VII school which competes in the Northwest Central Conference. The football team has made the OHSAA football playoffs the last six years under Matt Burgbacher, who resigned to take the head coaching job at Troy High School.
