SUGARCREEK -- Ridgewood High's girls golf team was defeated by a narrow margin in Inter-Valley Conference action on Monday as they fell to Strasburg by a count of 222-223 at Williamdale Golf Course.

Match medalist, Samantha Wilson led the charge for the Lady Generals (1-10) by carding a 45. Sadie Wilson added a 50, Tyra Reed fired a 58 and Bethany Shuck added a 70.

Strasburg's (6-7) leading golfer was Brynn Eckhardt who completed the course with a 53.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Newcomerstown High took second-place in their tri-match at River Greens Golf Course with Indian Valley and New Philadelphia on Monday.

The Trojans tallied a score of 194, which was beaten by Indian Valley's score of 163 but followed by a New Philadelphia score of 208.

Dakota Wright led Newcomerstown by firing a 43 while teammate Alex Gaskin carded a 47.

Aaron Larson shot a 50 and Cory Roberts added a 51 to round out the scoring for the Trojans.

Match medalist, Jarrett Helter of Indian Valley turned in a score of 38, while fellow Braves Michael Bentamati (40), Brett Rentsch (42) and Dalton Burcher (43) aslo played outstanding golf.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Visiting Hiland High collected the victory over Newcomerstown in Inter-Valley Conference golf action at Hickory Flats Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Hawks took the win by a 156-204 final count with Mark Schlabach picking up medalist honors with an impressive round of 35, which included an eagle on the par five 5th hole. Completing the Hawks (8-0 overall, 4-0 IVC) scoring was Adam Grate 38, Jacob Kalman 41, with Johnny Mullett and Ethan Habeger each finishing with 42s.

Sophomore Rylan Popadak led the Trojans (1-12 overall, 0-6 IVC) with 48, while Levi Kilpatrick shot 50, Tance Brandon and Brandon Cutshall each carded 53.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Visiting Garaway recorded a team 166 to beat Claymont with a 208 at River Greens Golf Course Wednesday. Host Ridgewood had just three golfers and couldn't field a team score.

Sadie Wilson led the three Lady Generals with a 48 with Bethany Shuck adding a 51 and Tyra Reed a 66.

Leading Garaway was match medalist Ashleigh Rothacher who carded a 38. She was joined in the team total by Courtney Werker with a 40, Jocelyn Troyer with a 41 and Kalyn Mast with a 47.

Low scorer for the Lady Mustangs of Claymont was Rachel Hicks who carded a 43. She was joined by Carly Henry (45), Hannah Johns (56) and Kassidy Foltz with a 64.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Meadowbrook High followed up its OVAC Class 4A championship with a triangular match victory against Indian Valley and Claymont at River Greens Golf Course on Thursday.

The Colts finished with a 155-stroke total followed by Indian Valley (162) and Claymont (174).

Three golfers shared medalist honors with two-over par 38s -- Meadowbrook's Devin Webster and Tanner Hewison and Indian Valley's Jarrett Helter.

Backing Webster and Hewison for Meadowbrook (15-1 in duals; 88-10 overall) were Zach Clair with a 39 and Trey Singleton with a 40.

For Indian Valley (8-6 in duals; 60-23 overall), support for Helter included Mike Benamati and Dalton Burcher with 41s and Jadan Hartzler with a 42.

Claymont (6-8 in duals) was led by Alex Wright with a 40 followed by Trevor Host (43), Eric Harmon (46) and Chase Ricker (46).
