STRASBURG -- A strong rushing attack propelled the visiting Newcomerstown High Trojans past Strasburg by a 33-14 final count in Inter-Valley Conference football action on Friday night.

The Trojans' ground game rolled up 371 yards with five touchdowns to control the time of possession in the IVC match-up.

Five Newcomerstown players ran for more than 50 yards, with Dylan Little leading the way with 94 yards on 20 carries with a pair of TD runs. Walker McMullen, Jason Garland and Michael Dillon each added touchdown runs for the Trojans in the victory.

Strasburg held a slim 7-6 lead after the first quarter, before the Trojans used a 14-0 scoring edge in the second stanza to lead 20-7 at the halftime break.

In the second half, Newcomertown tallied the only score in the third period to push the lead out to 26-7.

Both teams reached the end zone in the final quarter for the 33-4 final score.

Strasburg (2-4, 0-3 IVC) was held to just 70 yards rushing on 27 carries in the contest.

With the victory, the Trojans improve to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in IVC play.
