NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Host Newcomerstown High suffered a three-set loss to backyard rival Ridgewood in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball play on Monday. The visiting Lady Generals posted the IVC victory by scores of 25-14, 25-8 and 25-17.

Ridgewood (12-3, 10-1 IVC) was paced by Laura Crawford with seven kills, 11 points (3 aces), three digs; Eliza Haynes added nine assists, nine points with three digs and Morgan McCorman finished with 12 digs and four points (1 ace).

Sydney Zinkon chipped in three points, five assists and Erinn Buchanan recorded four blocks while Allie Dobson and Autumn Brown each tallied three kills and two blocks.

Brea Garretson led the Lady Trojans with four points and four kills while Sydni Zufelt finished with five points.

GNADENHUTTEN -- Canal Fulton Northwest invaded Indian Valley on Tuesday and pocketed a three-set sweep by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-19.

For Indian Valley (6-11) Reagan Love handed out 12 assists and had six digs; Taylor Williams had five digs, six kills and a pair of blocks; Ashley Tschudy added six kills and two blocks; and Kitanna Rakestraw chipped in with five kills.

EAST CANTON -- Although the final two sets were close, the visiting Ridgewood Lady Generals remained in the hunt for the Inter-Valley Conference title with a three-set sweep of the East Canton Lady Hornets by scores of 25-11, 28-26 and 25-21 on Tuesday.

Ridgewood (13-, 11-1 IVC) got 20 assists and six digs from Eliza Haynes, with Sydney Zinkon adding 16 assists. Laura Crawford led the Lady Generals at the net with 15 kills as she added 11 points(two aces) and eight digs. Morgan McDorman tallied six points (one ace) and added 11 defensive digs,; Allie Dobson adding 13 kills, 11 blocks, five points (one ace); Erinn Buchanan tacked on four kills and six points; Cassie Mladek tallied four kills and five blocks; and Autumn Brown tacked on three blocks.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Even with the home crowd on its side, Newcomerstown High could not solve Tuscarawas Central Catholic on Tuesday, as the Lady Trojans fell in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-9 and 25-9.

Jayde Bricker recorded five points and a block for the Lady Trojans while teammate Karlee Peach tallied 10 digs.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Keeping their winning streak going, the host Ridgewood Lady Generals swept past the Garaway Lady Pirates in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-13 and 25-14 in Inter-Valley Conference play Thursday.

For Ridgewood (14-3, 12-1 IVC), Eliza Hayes led the offense with nine points (three aces), with Laura Crawford tallied eight points (one ace) and Morgan McDorman had six points (two aces).

Crawford also collected 17 digs and slammed 25 kills, while Hayes led the defense with 20 digs while dishing out 21 assists. McDorman added 12 digs; Allie Dobson had seven kills and seven blocks; Autumn Brown tacked on five kills and three blocks; and Erinn Buchanan had three blocks.

STRASBURG --The visiting Newcomerstown Lady Trojans forced a fourth set, but were unable to solve Strasburg as they fell by 25-16, 25-10, 27-29 and 25-18 scores in Inter-Valley Conference action on Thursday.

Newcomerstown (2-17 overall) was led by Mackenzie Monor, who accounted for 13 points (three aces). Jayde Bricker followed with eight kills while Riley Kellish generated 10 points, 16 digs and six kills.


WEST LAFAYETTE -- Host Ridgewood High picked up a pair of wins Saturday in triangular action with Indian Valley and Dover High.

The Lady Generals took care of the Lady Braves by scores of 25-12 and 25-19, and followed that up with a 25-12, 25-21 victory over the Lady Tornadoes.

Laura Crawford paced RHS in the Indian Valley win with 21 kills, four digs, three blocks, two points with Eliza Haynes adding 23 assists, three kills, six digs and Allie Dobson added seven kills with five blocks. Morgan McDorman collected nine digs and eight points (1 ace) for the Lady Generals, while Sydney Zinkon handed out 15 assists, Erin Buchanan tallied four blocks and Autumn Brown recorded four kills with one block.

Crawford again led Ridgewood in the Dover win with 12 kills, nine digs, two blocks, two points (1 ace), with Haynes chipping in with 12 assists, three kills, seven digs and seven points. Dobson finished with two kills, three blocks, and three points while McDorman tallied 10 digs with four points.

With the pair of victories, RIdgewood improves to 16-3 overall and 12-1 in the IVC.
