NEWCOMERSTOWN - Three local players earned first team all-Ohio recognition while two others gained second team laurels from the local area.

Earning a repeat berth on the all-state team in Division VI was Newcomerstown High's Dylan Little, a 5-10, 145-pound senior defensive back-running back.

Little was a one man wrecking crew on the defensive side of the ball as he recorded 118 total tackles, including 80 solo stops.

He also contributed three interceptions, one forced fumble and a quarterback sack.

Offensively, he generated 644 yards rushing on 151 carries with six TDs and hauled in 11 passes for 104 yards and a TD.

Little had previously garnered first team all-Eastern District D-VI and an all-Inter-Valley Conference honors.

All-Ohio special mention honors went out to four Trojans -- Walker McMullen, Keleal Tarrance, Joel Ebersbach and Jason Garland.

Ridgewood High's first team selection in Division V was senior linebacker Brice Hammond, who tallied 88 tackles with three sacks and one INT. The 6-0, 180-pound senior also contributed at running back as he produced 428 yards on 78 carries and four TDs while reeling in 13 passes for 237 yards and two TDs.

Also delivering a strong season for Ridgewood was 6-3, 235-pound defensive lineman Keith Leindecker, who was a second team all-Ohio selection. Leindecker accounted for 78 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 11 QB sacks during his junior season.

All-Ohio special mentions went out to three Generals -- Trent Harrison, Nathaniel Thompson and Keith Claxon .

Leading Indian Valley to a 9-1 record, a trip to the playoffs and the Principals Athletic Conference title in his senior year was second team all-state defensive lineman Allija Lantzer, who collected 87 tackles, 37 tackles for loss and a school-record 17 sacks. The 5-10, 175-pound lineman also had two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

Lantzer's teammate Brady Cotsmire was named to the third team all-Ohio for his play at quarterback. Cotsmire scrambled for 1,279 yards on 154 rushes and 16 TDs while completing 36-of-77 passes for 827 yards, six TDs and four interceptions. The 6-0, 180-pound senior also recorded 73 tackles, two interceptions and deflected 12 passes at the safety position.

Earning all-Ohio special mention honors for IVHS were Cory Carlisle, Ross Love, Koby Cool and Alec Love.
