In an Inter-Valley Conference triangular hosted by Newcomerstown High School Tuesday both the Newcomerstown girls and boys finished second.
In the girls' teams standings, Tuscarawas Central Catholic just edged out the host Trojan girls with 60 points, while Newcomerstown had 59. Hiland was third with 49 points.
The Hiland boys were on top of the team standings with 80 points followed by Newcomerstown with 71 and TCC with 22 points.
Leading the Newcomerstown girls was Trew Davis with a pair of wins. She won the 1600-meter run (6:27.40) and the 3200-meter run in 14:25.5. Also turning in wins for the Lady Trojans were: Jade Johnson, discus (114-4), Brea Garretson, high jump (4-4) and the pole vault at eight feet.
Claiming individual wins for the Newcomerstown boys were: Jacob Robinson, 3200-meter run (10:58.4), Brandon Taylor, long jump (19-11.5), Dayton Starkeky, shot put (38.78) and Ryan Stevens, pole vault (13-0).
Also claiming wins for the Trojans were the 4x100-meter relay (Brandon Moore, T. Anthony Birch, Noah Creager, Taylor) in :49.10, and the 4x800-meter relay (Robinson, Anthony Sanders, Brody Lehman, Mason Walkap) in 9:31.18.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Ridgewood boys' and girls' teams swept a home Inter-Valley Conference tri-meet over Garaway and Malvern High on Tuesday.
The boys won with 74.5 points, which beat out Garaway's 57.5 points, while Malvern rounded out the trio with 42 tallies.
Ridgewood's 4x800 team of Tyler Caudy, Travis Vickers, Ian Schwab and Vickers earned the win with a time of 9:14.6 and the 4x200 group of Billy Bailey, Michael Kelly, John Slusser and Javin Merrill turned in a time of 1:36.7 to win the competition for the Generals.
Individual winners for RHS were Cole Lillibridge (11.6) in the 100 meter dash, Kelly (53.7) in the 400 meter run, Jhett Slusser (42.7) in the 300 hurdles and the 200 run with a 24.2 time and Xavier Kelly with a 5'6 measurement in the high jump.
The Ridgewood girls won with 77 points, just edging out runner-up Garaway with a score of 71 markers, followed by Malvern with 26 points.
Alexis Prater won the 100 hurdles (16.93) and the 100 meter run (12.81) to lead the Lady Generals and Josey Lillibridge (99.1) won the discus event for RHS.

MAGNOLIA -- The Newcomerstown High boys and girls both placed eighth at the Lidderdale Invitational hosted by Sandy Valley High on Saturday.
The Newcomerstown High boys tallied 15 points, led by Braden Taylor, who was second in the long jump (19-6.5).
Other place-winners included Ryan Stevens, fourth in the pole vault (12-0); Jacob Robinson, fifth in the 1600 (4:56.80); and sixth in the 4x200 (Tanner Birch. Anthony Birch, Noah Creager and Gannon Baker) in 1:45.12.
The Lady Trojans scored just 10 points led by Brea Garretson, who was third in the pole vault (8-6).
Also scoring were Amaris Wells, fifth in the 100 (14.10); Destiny Grewell, sixth in the 100 hurdles (18.6); and sixth in the 4x100 (Keyera Dean, Azure Kittmann, Erin Lynch and Wells) in 57.01.
Carrollton swept the team titles, winning the boys' meet with 106 points ahead of runner-up Indian Valley which tallied 87 while the girls scored 132 points to 84 for second place Canton South.
