MALVERN -- Offense was in short supply on Monday for the Newcomerstown High Trojans resulting in a 2-0 loss to host Malvern High in Inter-Valley Conference baseball action.

Hornets' starting pitcher Jaret Majestic tossed a complete game two-hit shutout at the Trojans with 11 Ks and no walks to collect the win on the mound. Brandon Septer absorbed the pitching loss for NHS (7-8, 2-8 IVC), finishing with three strikeouts and didn't issue a walk.

Braden Russell's double and Kyle Hinds single were the Trojans only hits in the IVC road game.

Malvern was led at the plate by Jake Moser with a double and Jake Foster with an RBI single.

Ridgewood 6,

Tuscarawas CC 4

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood High held on for a 6-4 victory over visiting Tuscarawas Central Catholic in Inter-Valley Conference baseball action on Monday afternoon.

The Generals jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings of play and held off the Saints for the victory.

Rayven Davidson hurled a complete game two-hitter to earn the pitching win for RHS, finishing with two strikeouts and four walks.

Senior Brice Hammond and sophomore Hunter Mizer each doubled and singled to lead the Generals' attack, with Keith Leindecker belting a home run, single with three RBIs. Davidson aided his own cause with a pair of singles for Ridgewood.

Ridgewood 4,

Newcomerstown 2

WEST LAFAYETTE °-- Junior Braeden Smith took the mound for Ridgewood High on Tuesday night to take on backyard rival Newcomerstown High and turned in a solid complete game outing to lead the Generals to a 4-2 victory in Inter-Valley Conference baseball action.

Smith allowed just four hits with both NHS runs being unearned and finished with 13 Ks without issuing a walk to improve his season mark to 4-1.

Taking the tough luck loss for the Trojans was junior George Brode who also hurled a solid complete game effort. Brode allowed eight hits and three earned runs with five strikeouts and three walks.

Junior Rayven Davidson led the RHS offense with a solo home run in the seventh inning, a single with two RBIs. Senior Brice Hammond doubled and singled for the Generals with Zach Wright chipping in with two singles and Smith stroked a double.

Brode led the Trojans at the plate with a double, single and RBI while Bailey Guy added an RBI basehit.

With the win Ridgewood improves to 11-7 overall and 8-3 in IVC play, while Newcomerstown slips to 7-9 overall and 2-9 in IVC action.

Strasburg 3,

STRASBURG -- The Newcomerstown Trojans couldn't quite muster up enough runs on Wednesday, as they fell by a 3-1 count to visiting Strasburg High, in Inter-Valley Conference play.

Newcomerstown (7-10, 2-10 IVC) was led by Braden Russell and Andrew Johnson who each delivered two hits for the Trojans.

Joel Ebersbach took the tough loss on the mound for NHS with two Ks and three free passes allowed.

Mike Neidenthal paced the Tigers with two of the team's seven hits and Paul Thomas earned the win on the hill with six punch outs and two walks.

Manchester 5,

Indian Valley 0

AKRON -- Host Akron Manchester tossed a three-hit shutout against the visiting Indian Valley Braves Wednesday and took advantage of three Indian Valley errors to claim a 5-0 Principals Athletic Conference victory.

Tobie Myers was the Indian Valley starter on the mound and suffered the loss fanning two and walking six. Braeden Lehigh came on in the fourth to finish it out and added three punchouts and one free pass.

Jarrett Helter paced the Braves at the plate with a double, while Jayden Helter and Easton Guspyt each added a single.

GNADENHUTTEN -- All the runs were scored in the sixth inning with the visiting Wooster Triway Titans squeezing out a 3-2 Principals Athletic Conference win over the homestanding Indian Valley Braves Friday.

Freshman Cade Williams took the hard-luck loss on the mound for the Braves with eight strikeouts and three walks.

Indian Valley out hit the Titans 6-5 led by Easton Guspyt with a pair of singles, while Jayden Helter, Koby Cool, Connor Ferguson and Dalton Burcher each chipped in with a single.

Newcomerstown 4,

Shenandoah 3

In the conclusion of a game suspended due to weather on April 6, host Newcomerstown High plated four runs in the second and third innings and made it stand up as the Trojans slipped past the Shenandoah Zeps, 4-3, in a non-conference game on Friday.

Jacob Howell was the original starter on the hill for the Zeps, but was replaced by Caden Trenner on Friday. Trenner pitched the final five innings with five strikeouts and three walks. Ben Hartline tossed the first five and one-third innings for the Trojans with one strikeout and four walks, with Brandon Septer closing it out to get the save adding one K.

Shenandoah (3-15, 2-6 PVC) outhit the host, 7-5, led by Howell with four singles.

Newcomerstown (8-10, 2-10 IVC) had five singles.
