WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood High used a big fourth inning uprising to slip past Tuscarawas Central Catholic in Inter-Valley Conference softball action on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Generals tallied four runs in the frame to take a 4-1 and held on for the IVC home win.

Samantha Wilson hurled a complete game to record the pitching win for RHS (11-7, 6-4 IVC) to improve to 6-4 on the season. Wilson finished with seven Ks and a pair of walks.

Audrey Tingle led the Lady Generals' attack with a double, two singles with three RBIs, while Sydney Zinkon and Allyssa Grove each added two singles. Wilson and Morgan McDorman each stroked doubles for Ridgewood with Paige Patterson chipping in with an RBI basehit.

Malvern 4,

Newcomerstown 3

MALVERN -- Host Malvern High slipped past Newcomerstown High 4-3 in Inter-Valley Conference softball action on Monday evening.

The Lady Hornets pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the fifth to record the IVC home win.

Jayde Bricker (4-7) took the loss for the Lady Trojans, finishing with one strikeout and two walks.

Riley Kellish slugged a triple with two singles to pace the Lady Trojans' offense, with Bricker adding a pair of singles with an RBI and Karlee Peach collecting a pair of RBIs with a single.

Malvern (5-6) was led by Morgan Oldack, Mackenzie Haidet and Macey Zeiger with three singles each.

Newcomerstown 9,

Ridgewood 8

Senior Jayde Bricker belted two home-runs and delivered a walk-off single in the seventh inning to earn the win in the circle and give the Newcomerstown Lady Trojans a 9-8, come from behind win over visiting Ridgewood High on Tuesday, in Inter-Valley Conference action.

Bricker laced a three-run bomb in the fourth stanza, a solo shot in the sixth and the game-winner in the final frame, while striking out one in relief of starting pitcher Riley Kellish who tossed two and two-thirds innings, allowing three free passes.

Rachel Hinton followed with two singles for Newcomerstown (5-12, 3-7 IVC).

The loss went to Sydney Zinkon who pitched six innings, struck out one and walked three.

After Zinkon loaded the bases in the seventh, Samantha Wilson came in and walked one and allowed the winning run to score.

Audrey Tingle and Wilson led the Ridgewood (11-8, 6-5 IVC) offense with two hits, while Zinkon smashed a home-run in defeat.

Strasburg 6,

Newcomerstown 1

STRASBURG -- Visiting Strasburg High broke out the long ball Wednesday in posting a 6-1 victory over Newcomerstown High in Inter-Valley Conference softball action.

Kim Addy got the Lady Tigers started with a two-run home run in the first inning, with winning pitcher Hannah Duff aiding her own cause with a solo home run in the fourth inning.

Duff went the distance for the pitching win, finishing with six Ks and one walk for the Lady Tigers. Jayde Bricker absorbed the loss for the Lady Trojans, also with a complete game effort with five strikeouts and one walk.

Rachel Hinton slugged a solo home run to account for the Newcomerstown offense, while Bricker and Kayla Gibson chipped in with singles.

Tuscarawas CC 14,

Newcomerstown 5

Visiting Tuscarawas Catholic capitalized on six Newcomerstown errors in scoring a 14-5 Inter-Valley Conference win on Thursday.

Both teams had double-digit hits -- TCC with 13 and NHS with 12 --but the six miscues led to several unearned runs by the visitors.

TCC's top hitters included Brooke Beamer with three singles and an RBI; Morgan Harrison with three singles; Amber Peltz with two singles and two RBI; Maggie Dominick with two doubles and an RBI.

For NHS, Karlee Peach and Makenzie Moner each collected three singles, with Peach adding an RBI. Kayla Gibson added an RBi double and Riley Kellish had two singles.

Sydney Gilland earned the pitching win for TCC (12-8, 7-5 IVC). Newcomerstown (5-14, 3-9 IVC) used three hurlers who combined for seven Ks, three walks and three hit batsmen.
