NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Quarterback Dean Green threw four touchdown passes and ran for two scores to lead Tuscarawas Central Catholic to a 42-0 rout of visiting Newcomerstown in Inter-Valley Conference action Saturday night.

Green completed 13-of-19 passes for 196 yards while gaining 51 yards on 10 rushing attempts.

The win boots TCC to 4-1 overall and keeps them even with Garaway and Ridgewood in the IVC title chase with a 2-0 league record. Newcomerstown is now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the IVC.

TCC jumped to a 21-0 first quarter lead thanks to a 22-yard TD pass from Green to Nick Sciaretti; a 37-yard scoring strike from Green to Beau Beamer and a 16-yard run to paydirt by Green, with the do-it-all Green adding all three point-after kicks.

The Saints made it 28-0 at halftime thanks to a seven-yard TD run from Green, who again nailed the PAT.

Two more TCC scores in the third chapter closed out the scoring -- a 29-yard Green-to-Sciaretti hook-up and a five-yard toss by Green to Beamer. Green made it five-for-five on extra-points.

TCC finished with 291 total yards, including 196 passing and 95 rushing. The Saints had 13 first downs and lost one fumble.

Newcomerstown closed with just 134 nets yards, with 102 on the ground and 32 through the air as QB George Brode was 3-of-12 with two interceptions. The Trojans had eight first down and lost one-of-two fumbles.
